Who We Are

ABK Creates is a creative studio built as a laboratory, not a lane. We move fluidly across format and theme, producing original shows, staging live events, and developing new work from the ground up, united by one belief: a good story deserves the right form, not the expected one.

Our Founder — Afrika

After graduating from Howard University with a degree in Political Science, Afrika worked on political campaigns, at a major D.C. public relations firm, on Capitol Hill for a member of Congress, and at C-SPAN. Despite a strong love of law and politics, she felt compelled to pursue her creative passion, and despite a difficult transition, her determination paid off in a string of creative assignments that fueled her decision to open ABK Creates.

Today, Afrika leads a small team of creatives across ABK Creates' growing slate: Zebra Ears, a podcast exploring early childhood development; Film Fest 360, a media platform covering the world's film festivals; and several original screenplay and television projects currently in development.

Afrika is a native of Augusta, Georgia, who grew up in and still resides in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
